2010 Patience Syrah
2010 Patience Syrah
Teaser: Beautifully balanced!
A graceful Syrah aged 40 months in a mixture of French and American oak barrels. The extended aging softens the wine allowing for great expression of the fruit. Cherry cola and licorice grace your nose. Beautifully balanced with velvety smooth black licorice, plum skin and dark cherry on the palate. A kiss of oak comes through in the refined and lingering finish.
A bold wine like this can hold up to the intense flavors of slow-roasted barbecue pork. A great cut for this might be a pork shoulder where you’ll have a rich savory piece of meat. Try spicing this type of meat with pepper and cumin to bring out the fruitiness in the wine. Another way is using Asian cuisine flavors, such as plum sauce, that will add to the fruitiness in the wine.
